Flux Solid Walnut Dining Table Solid walnut furniture built to last a lifetime - and look better with every year.
The Flux dining table is solid walnut furniture in its most honest form. Crafted entirely from FAS-grade North American black walnut - the highest lumber grade available - with zero secondary materials, no veneers, and no MDF fillers. What you see is what it is: pure, solid walnut wood, from surface to core.
Solid Walnut, Nothing Else
Most furniture labelled "walnut" is a walnut veneer over composite board. The Flux is different. Every component - tabletop, legs, and frame - is milled from solid black walnut sourced from sustainably managed forests in Iowa and Wisconsin, USA. The wood carries FSC certification, meaning every plank traces back to responsibly harvested timber that meets global forest stewardship standards.
The rich, chocolate-toned grain you see isn't printed or applied. It's the natural character of North American black walnut, aged over a century in slow-growth forests before it ever becomes furniture.
Fewer Joins. More Beauty.
The Flux tabletop is constructed using a wide-board straight-join method - just 4 to 8 large planks, edge-glued and finished flat. No narrow finger-jointing, no patchwork grain. The result is a clean, flowing tabletop surface where the walnut's natural grain lines run long and uninterrupted, the way solid walnut dining tables should look.
Traditional Joinery, Modern Strength
Where the legs meet the frame, Flux employs a traditional mortise-and-tenon joint technique, unmatched for structural integrity in solid wood furniture. This three-dimensional joint transfers load in multiple directions simultaneously, giving the Flux dining table a tested load capacity exceeding 400kg.
No metal brackets. No bolts hidden under plastic caps. Just wood fitted perfectly to wood.
Finished to Last
The surface is treated with clear lacquer- a water-based topcoat that protects the walnut while letting its natural warmth and texture remain visible and tangible. The finish is smooth without being plasticky, and the rounded edges soften the table's silhouette while protecting against everyday knocks.

Why Solid Walnut Furniture?
Solid walnut dining tables occupy a distinct category in furniture. Unlike oak, which is more widely available, black walnut has a naturally darker, warmer tone that deepens over time with light exposure. Its fine, straight grain makes it exceptionally stable for large-format tabletops - meaning less warping and movement across Singapore's humid climate compared to lesser hardwoods.
FAS-grade walnut (Firsts and Seconds) is the top commercial classification for North American hardwood lumber. It guarantees long, clear boards with minimal knots - the standard used in premium solid walnut furniture worldwide.
